She first told her parents and police that she was pushed to the ground and raped by a stranger. According to the version of events accepted in Kitchener court, however, Klug actually had consensual sex with the girl after they met in a library and arranged to get together afterwards. The girl also lied and told him she was 15, but the encounter was still a crime since the legal age of consent for sex is The day before his first court appearance in June, Klug was allegedly lured, abducted and extorted by three men and a woman who took the law into their own hands.
He was allegedly assaulted, threatened, confined, told to come up with thousands of dollars and ordered to plead guilty. Defence lawyer Stephanie Krug said that treatment will be a factor when Klug returns to court for sentencing. The mandatory minimum for sexual interference is three months in jail.
